Los nombres de persona de los troyanos y de los griegos en la Iliada

Resumo

Este artigo examina os antropônimos, os epítetos e os hábitos atribuídos aos troianos, aqueus, argivos e dânaos na Ilíada. A maioria dos antropônimos derivados de topônimos e de étnicos são atribuídos a personagens que pertencem ao lado onde está situado o lugar ou o povo do qual deriva seu nome. Em outras palavras, cada lado está associado a uma área geográfica diferente. Além disso, os antropônimos que carecem de etimologia grega e parecem estar relacionados com uma língua anatólia são usados para troianos e para seus aliados, mas raramente para os aqueus, argivos e dânaos. Ambos os fatos sugerem que a Ilíada apresenta os gregos com um sentido de identidade comum, embora a designação Hellenes no sentido de 'gregos' esteja ausente da Ilíada. O elevado número de antropônimos derivados de topônimos, de étnicos e de acidentes geográficos da Trôade sugere que o autor da Ilíada estava familiarizado com a geografia da Trôade.
