A expressão Diòs d’eteleíeto boulḗ figura no quinto verso da Ilíada. Ela enuncia a realização do plano de Zeus e tem sido pensada como um descarte em relação à norma. Isso quer dizer que comentadores interpretam o modo como a Ilíada recria esse motivo tradicional conforme as necessidades da sua lógica interna. Eu argumento, porém, que se deve perceber o jogo das oposições como na desconstrução, ou seja, não como uma invenção desdobrada sobre o fundo invisível de uma norma e em reação ao seu poder, mas como uma evidência que salta aos olhos. Por meio da análise formal, mostro que a Diòs boulḗ consiste, exatamente, na busca pelo equilíbrio entre forças contrárias. Isso significa que o plano de Zeus na Ilíada é autorreferencial.
